Privacy Policy Statement

The Maryknoll Convent School Former Students’ Association (“MCSFSA”) respects personal data and is committed to full implementation and compliance with the data protection principles and all relevant provisions of the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. In doing so, we will ensure that personnel involved in handling personal data collected comply with appropriate standards of security and confidentiality.

Except for the purposes and in the circumstances as specified in the “Personal Information Collection Statement” below, the MCSFSA will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information without your permission to do so.

Personal Information Collection Statement

The MCSFSA may collect personal information from users for any of the following purposes: –

  • processing and verifying your identity for the purposes of vetting any applications for membership of the MCSFSA;
  • verifying contact data for the purposes of processing donations, and/or orders for articles sold/marketed by the MCSFSA.
  • providing membership services;
  • performing administrative matters concerning the MCSFSA, Maryknoll Convent School Former Students’ Association Trust (“MCSFSA Trust”), Maryknoll Convent School (“MCS”), MCS (Primary Section), MCS (Secondary Section), Maryknoll Convent School Foundation Limited (“Foundation), Maryknoll Convent School Educational Trust (“MCS Educational Trust”), overseas alumni chapters and their respective associates or affiliates;
  • organizing, promoting and managing membership and/or events that are relevant to or of interest to members (which may include fundraising events);
  • direct marketing, data matching and communicating with users for such purposes;
  • registration of activities organized and/or sponsored by the MCSFSA, MCSFSA Trust, MCS, MCS (Primary Section), MCS (Secondary Section), Foundation, MCS Educational Trust, overseas alumni chapters and their respective associates or affiliates; and
  • enabling the government and regulatory bodies to carry out their respective regulatory functions or such other functions that may be assigned to the government or the relevant regulatory body from time to time.

Personal information of users collected by the MCSFSA may be used, stored, disclosed, transferred by the MCSFSA to any of the following parties (whether within or outside the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region):-

  • MCS, MCS (Primary Section), MCS (Secondary Section), Foundation, MCS Educational Trust and its associates and affiliates;
    any government department or regulatory body; and
  • any individuals/organizations associated with the MCSFSA including its agents and contractors for the purposes as specified in above.
    You warrant that all information provided by you in relation to and/or in connection with the Services is true, complete, and up-to-date and that you agree to notify the MCSFSA of all changes to the information previously provided.

Right of access

Under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, individuals have the right to request access to and correction of their personal data. Should you wish to access your personal information held by us, please send your enquiry or request to membership@mcsfsa.com; by post to MCSFSA at 5 Ho Tung Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong. A reasonable fee may be charged for the processing of certain data access requests.
